Nikolai von Rosen and the archive of Rosen/Wojnar présentent une installation liant visualisation de l’information et hiérarchisation de l’espace en s’appuyant sur la différence de traitement entre art et communication. L’artiste a imaginé de dissocier l’espace du Dojo en deux parties d’une même scène de théâtre. L’entrée réservée à la véritable scène, là même où le public entre, accueille des personnages, figures de sacs de ciment et leurs portraits. La seconde partie, comme des décors en coulisses, est constituée de structures de bois portant de grandes toiles rouges. Cette mise en scène du lieu et des œuvres est un jeu sur la hiérarchisation symbolique de l’espace et la manière dont l’information est créatrice de formes.

Ces toiles rouges sont d’anciennes peintures du duo d’artistes Rosen/Wojnar dont l’artiste a été l’un deux acteurs jusqu’en 2010. Nikolai von Rosen continuant le travail engagé par le duo, les a recouvertes d’une couche de peinture rouge qui masque et protège leur mémoire. Ces peintures anciennes se référaient à la complexe communication des groupes industriels où se mêlent le langage marketing, le langage analytique des graphiques et des statistiques, comme les détails hautement symboliques d’une typographie ou d’une couleur.

Nikolai von Rosen est un artiste allemand né en 1967. Il vit et travaille à Berlin et enseigne l’architecture et l’art à l’Eidgenössische Technische Hochschule (ETH) de Zürich. Lors de ses études d’Histoire de l’art à l’Université de Bamberg il rencontre Florian Wojnar avec qui il fonde un duo artistique en 1997. Appelé Future7 jusqu’en 2009, le duo devient ensuite Rosen/Wojnar jusqu’en 2010, date à laquelle ils se séparent. En référence à cette collaboration sur laquelle s’appuie le projet du Dojo, son appellation est ainsi formulée : Nikolai von Rosen and the archive of Rosen/Wojnar.

Parmi les nombreuses expositions auxquelles il a participé, Nikolai von Rosen a exposé dans le cadre de sa collaboration à Rosen/Wojnar en 2010 au Kunsthaus Schloß Wendlinghausen, Dörentrup, Berlin, et au Living Art Museum, Reykjavik ; en 2007 à l’Espace de l’Art Concret – Donation Albers-Honegger ; en 2004 au Zentrum für zeitgenössische Kultur ZSK, Ekaterinburg. Le duo a également été lauréat en 2008 du Stiftung Kunstfonds de Bonn et du Senat de Berlin.

Nikolai von Rosen and the archives of Rosen / Wojnar presents an installation linking visualization of the information and the hierarchical organization of the space by leaning on the difference of treatment between art and communication. The artist imagined to separate the space of the Dojo in two parts of the same theater stage. The entrance reserved for the real stage, there even where the public enters, welcomes characters, figures of bags of cement and their portraits. The second part, as sets in wings, is constituted by wooden structures carrying big red paintings. This installation of the place and the works is a set on the symbolic hierarchical organization of the space and the way the information is creative of forms.

These red canvas are the former paintings of the duet of artists Rosen/Wojnar whose artist was one of the two actors until 2010. Nikolai von Rosen continuing the work engaged by the duet, covered them with a red coat of paint which masks and protects their memory. These former paintings referred to the complex communication of the industrial groups where get involved the marketing language, the analytical language of graphs and statistics, as highly symbolic details of a typography or a color.

Nikolai von Rosen is a German artist born in 1967. He lives and works in Berlin and teaches the architecture and the art at Eidgenössische Technische Hochschule ( ETH) of Zürich. During his studies of Art history at the University of Bamberg he met Florian Wojnar with whom he formed an artistic duet in 1997. Their first name was Future7 until 2009, the duet became then Rosen / Wojnar until 2010, when they split. In reference to this collaboration on which leans the project of the Dojo, his artistic name is so formulated: Nikolai von Rosen and the archives of Rosen / Wojnar.

Among the many exhibitions in which he participated, Nikolai von Rosen exposed in the part of his collaboration to Rosen / Wojnar in 2010 in Kunsthaus Schlo ß Wendlinghausen, Dörentrup, Berlin, and in the Living room Art Museum, Reykjavik; in 2007 in the Espace de l’Art Concret - Donation Albers-Honegger; in 2004 in Zentrum für zeitgenössische Kultur ZSK, Ekaterinburg. The duet was also a prize-winner in 2008 of Stiftung Kunstfonds of Bonn and the Senat of Berlin.
